Pearls
When rainbow meets the earth pearls come into existence.
Pearl is a very delicate and elegant stone and its formation is very unique which makes it more interesting and special. Pearls are formed when a parasite or piece of organic matter gets embedded in the tissue of an oyster or mollusk. Nacre is secreted by the mantle tissue of the mollusk as a reaction. When the nacre builds up in layers, it surrounds the object and eventually forms a pearl.
Pearls have been around for centuries and they are used for different jewellery items and ornaments. White is the most widely used color of pearls and these jewels have a timeless beauty. This beautiful and amazing pearl stone is found in a variety of striking colors; black, white, rose pink, silver and golden.
Pearl comes in a range of beautiful shapes also including; oval and round shapes. The most commonly used and valuable shape is the round shape. Real pearls are very expensive so the jewellery of pearls can also be very costly depending on the quality and shape of pearls used.
If you adore these jewels but cannot afford having different articles of pearls then you have another easy and cheap option. Imitation of pearl jewellery is easily available having beads of glass, plastic, or shell which are given the look of authentic pearls.
The two main categories of pearls are cultured pearls and seawater cultured pearls. Cultured pearls are mostly used in rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Pearl is the birthstone of June and it symbolizes nobility. It is believed to bring wealth to its wearer. Some people say that pearls are the tears of the mermaid. Others say that they are tears of Adam and Eve.
