Some Features in Radioactive Clocks - The radioactive material used in these clocks is cesium-133. But the
question arises why only cesium-133 is used? Despite of the fact that
cesium-133 is a radioactive material and can be harmful for human but
in 13th General conference in 1967 on weight and measures cesium clock
is declared as a standard for second. Time taken by 9,192,631,770
oscillations of the light which is emitted by cesium-133 atom is a
second.
