It's easy to be clueless about which ring to pick for your girlfriend when you're at the jeweller’s and looking at a display case full of so many amazing engagement rings. You wouldn't have a clue about what she might like and what would get her to say yes to you. You could consider just closing your eyes and picking a ring at random since they're all the same to your eyes anyway. But somehow you know that this would be a very important decision to make seriously. You picture her in your head years after you've gotten married and still looking at the engagement ring you gave her that night. That's why you stay at the jeweller’s and really try to learn all the details about the rings so that you could finally find the best one for her.

Price may be
a good way of measuring how valuable a ring is but it wouldn't necessarily tell you if she would really like the ring you'd pick. Some of the less expensive items may just be the kind that she would fancy. A good rule of thumb that is always mentioned, though, is that an engagement ring should the same as about two months of your salary. So, think about narrowing your search down to those rings that range from just that expensive to slightly higher. Hey, you could even go with three or four month’s worth of salary if you happen to see something that you get a feeling she would like. Spend a couple of hours choosing the right ring; wait for that feeling that says you're making the right choice. Then, go and buy the ring and start practicing on how you'll be giving it to her and asking for her hand in marriage.
