It is traditional in most parts of the world to exchange rings when husband and wife are married. These rings become a symbol of the union and commitment of the wedding couple. Picking out the wedding rings for the bride and groom can be difficult, as the choice on the market is sometimes astounding.
Traditional wedding rings or wedding bands (so called as they are referred to as bands of gold) tend to be plain and finished with a straight edge or curve. Generally the straight edged finished is known as a "D-shape" and the curved edge finish is called a "court" finish. The design is important for the bride, as the wedding band must fit comfortably with her engagement ring. It is also possible to buy wedding rings that are shaped to fit snugly with cluster type rings.
