Types of Dog Jewellery

These days, many pet owners have gone with the trend of adorning their beloved dogs with dog jewellery. Dressed up this way, their dogs not only stand out in a crowd, but also attract the attention and admiration of passers-by and friends. For dog owners, then, finding the best pieces of jewellery is a matter of interest. But what sort can you actually buy for your dog?

The most common piece of jewellery worn by dogs is the dog collar. As per policy, pets are required collars to help identify them. Because it’s something that your pet has to wear anyway, it’s obvious why many jewellery designers decided to begin experimenting with looks for the dog collar. From diamond-studded collars, to leather collars in different colours with one or two central accents, these collars act as “necklaces” that almost permanently adorn the dogs.

Another jewellery item that owners can consider is a pendant for the generic dog collar. The dog collar, as such, remains as the usual one worn by other dogs who don’t typically wear jewellery. The pendant—with the dog’s name’s initial, the photo of the dog, or some other shape or gem—can be attached to the dog collar and act as a surprising focus for attention.

Other owners go farther by actually putting earrings on their dogs’ ears. Dog earrings don’t have require the dog having to get pierced. These days, dog owners have the option of adorning their dogs with magnetic earrings.

Bracelets for the dog’s paws, and even jewellery chains around the dog’s body, are common. Should you decide to dress your dog up in jewellery, the options are limitless. Browse magazines and see what your favourite celebrity’s dogs are wearing; this might be a good place to start from.
