Robots have found their way into the world of fashion, so much so into the jewellery business, such is evident in the Karen Walker Jewellery collection. Looking through the collection, robots are the inspiration to construct those creative pendants that you see donned by many. Mind you, these do not appeal to just children and robot enthusiasts. They are not just casual pieces. They tickle the interest of everybody else because of the craftsmanship involved, the materials used, and the label it stamps on the wearer. Robots have now become icons in the fashion industry and it targets everyone regardless of age, gender, social status, and race.
It must be the futuristic trend in styles and cuts in clothing that influenced the birth of robots as fashion icons. The presence of metallic
colors in gold, silver, and bronze mixed with sequins, as well as the glimmer and shimmer of makeup, shoes, bags, and other accessories.
It may also be the interest in inventions and scientific breakthroughs that are being shown on television or printed in magazines.
It can be attributable too to the rising number of animated films and series that children (and adults alike) are exposed.
There can be a dozen more reasons if you ask around. But the reason is not that important when you learn to appreciate its presence in our everyday fashion. There are beautiful pieces out in the market. There are those plated with sterling silver. There are those that have movable legs and arms. There are those that are studded with precious stones. The robots are here and they are going to remain in our fashion realm.
