In the West mainly, the jewellery was worn on the ears, in the hair, on the neck and the hands. But in other cultures and areas across the world jewellery is worn on other parts of the body as well. However, not everyone can afford such a fine piece of body jewellery, that it is also available in much cheaper version of stainless steel, titanium, plastic and glass. Body jewellery has been worn as tradition in many cultures, and now after the mass globalization of trade and media, people all over the world have adopted this as a fashion statement. For the men body jewellery gives their image a hard edge that make them stand out from their crowd of friends, and make girls notice them more. For girls, for centuries jewellery has been an accessory to beautify themselves with and that is why body jewellery is a popular fashion among them.
