There is something fantastic about white gold. It seems to stir up more interest in the buyers market than yellow gold and there isn’t much different in price. White gold is becoming more and more popular as a substitute for platinum and can be used in the manufacture of many different styles of jewellery. More commonly nowadays we see white gold used in the manufacture of rings and necklaces with white gold earrings finishing the set.

As with yellow gold white gold can be fashioned in exactly the same way and many jewellers offer their traditional ranges set in yellow gold in white gold and sometimes red or rose gold as well. More and more bridal jewellery is being chosen from ranges in white gold. Engagement
rings as well are becoming more and more popular in white gold. This is perhaps because when diamonds are set in white gold they look stunning and completely different than when they are set in yellow gold. This is true for white gold earrings set with diamonds as well.

White gold also has the advantage of being weighed in the same manner as yellow and the carat weight is the same between the two. Most commonly white gold is produced in eighteen carats, but some very fine white gold is also produced at twenty two carats. Earrings don’t necessarily have to be set with diamonds, as any colour looks good with white gold. A few suggestions are sapphires for a clean and elegant look or perhaps rubies for a warmer stylish look. The choice is yours!
